Garage Door Safety Tips
Your garage door is the single largest piece of moving equipment in your home. Installed and maintained properly, it will give you many years of safe and trouble-free service. On the other hand, an improperly installed, maintained or substandard door can be dangerous.
If your door is not working as you think it should, it makes sense to have an experienced garage door installer inspect your door and give you advice regarding proper maintenance, and recommendations for the replacement of any worn or broken parts, or door replacement options, if warranted.
Safety Tips:
Do not allow children to play with the
wall-mounted or remote controllers.
Make sure the wall-mounted controller is
out of the easy reach of children, i.e., is at least five
feet above the floor.
If you have young children at home, educate
them about garage door safety. Explain the potential dangers
and that the door and controllers are not toys.
Do periodic maintenance checks of your
door, as outlined in our Maintenance
Tips.
